Which Chocolate Drink Is Your Perfect Match?

Warm weather is nice, but warm beverages are better. Now that the weather is cool enough to break out our favorite scarves and enjoy our favorite hot beverages, it got us thinking about all the frothy drinks available at this time of year. But when it comes to hot chocolate and hot cocoa, are there any real differences between the two?

We found out not all chocolate drinks are created equal! Hot cocoa is usually a thinner drink made with only cocoa powder, sugar and milk. Hot cocoa is typically served without any additional flavorings or spices and is considered the less rich and indulgent of the two drinks without sacrificing classic chocolate flavor. Hot chocolate, on the other hand, is made using actual chocolate rather than powder and mixed with either milk or hot water. Chocolate is high in fat and it is this fat which makes hot chocolate thicker and more rich than hot cocoa. Hot chocolate is often branded as drinking or sipping chocolate and served in smaller cups because a little can go a long way!

Whether you’re partial to an indulgent experience or just something light to sip on after a trip to the pumpkin patch (for the ‘gram of course!), there is a chocolate drink out there for you. Be sure to drop by your local Yogurtini this fall and explore all our warm drink options (including hot cocoa and hot chocolate!)
